Fishing was a bit slower this past week, some days better then another. Some stormy cool weather in the area, has made it a challenge at times.Water temps are staying cool, and lake levels still up.
Chirinomid hatches are very spotty, with all the unsettled weather. Anglers are starting to see the odd ‘bomber’ sized chironomid starting to come off, but the trout are not keyed on them yet. They will be soon, as our annual ‘Bomber’ hatch should be soon starting up. Darker patterns have been producing best.
Trollers are having some good days. Frog coloured HotShots probably being the best producer.
The good old ‘garden hackle'(worm) under a float continues to be a great way to hook up.
