The -10 nights the past week has kept the lake from warming up, this weeks forecast calls for nighttime temps are just below 0 and highs during the day are up to 12 by the end of the week. Some guests in over the weekend had a tough time while others did surprisingly better with the cooler weather. Black leeches under the indicator worked best, pumpkinheads worked and damsel nymphs.
A local did pretty good today, as fish are moving up shallower. Water temps hit 40. Micro leaches or vampire leeches on a intermediate line stripping in worked. They are catching fish in front of our campsite in later afternoon and eve. Fish were showing themselves so that’s a good sign their starting to feed more.
