Warm days, and cool nights, ‘fall’ is in the air!!
This past week has seen some good action while chironomid fishing. Hatches of size 12’s in mainly green or brown colours. Today early morning anglers had good results until a NW wind came up and slowed fishing, as water temps dropped a few of degrees. Best tip, one has to keep moving when the bight stops, follow the fish, instead of waiting for them to come to you. There have been reports from folks fishing in the deeper parts of the lake with fish being caught in 14-15 foot depths, fishing 2 feet off the bottom, this has been best for larger trout. Throat pumps have been showing some bigger bugs, ‘bomber’ sizes, in green/silvers!!
Some great results for our guests fishing worms under floats, slip float set ups on a spinning rod are deadly.See the guys in the store if you’d like to learn how to set up for these rigs. Chironomids can be fished effectively this way as well.
Trollers are getting into some trout, wedding bands tipped with worm seem to be the best presentation.
Incredibly nice weather is forecasted for this next week, with lots of sun and daytime temps hitting 21-25 this coming week, this should keep the bug hatches going.
We do have a couple of our rustic cabins available for this upcoming Labor day long weekend!!! Some Campsites are still available to reserve as well.
