Ice thickness 300 feet off the resorts shore line is 8 inches of solid “blue” ice. There have been ice fishers walking from the South day use area to the North end of Bird Sanctuary Island the past two days. Inlet creeks may have thinner ice, creeks are frozen so no water has been entering Tunkwa and water is too low for water to exit the lake to Leighton. It’s one of the earliest ice on’s for Tunkwa. Always prove safe ice before venturing out.
